1. Quarry Off-Leash Park: A short drive up towards the Nordic Centre, the off leash park is a great place to let your dog have a good run. Generally there are lots of dogs and other dog owners up there to meet and play with. You can also walk or bike around (dogs on-leash) to a small water hole and creek if it’s a hot day and your dog loves to swim. Please bag waste, be alert for wildlife and observe trail closure signage.

2. Downtown Trail: The town trail starts just behind your Bow Valley Motel base and follows alongside Policeman’s Creek. Although your dog must be on-leash, this is a great flat trail for beginners as you can walk as far as you want - to the end of Canmore Golf Course and along the river bank - or turn and loop back - as early as just a few blocks away.

3. Indian Flats: A short drive along Hwy1A, Indian Flats is a great place for both you and your well-behaved canine friend to explore. Be sure to bring your leash because the area is used by the Pony Club and horses have priority on the trails or in the field. There is a nice little forested loop which takes about 30 minutes. Dogs love the changing landscape.
